The insurance cost over $500 and provided that 10% would be the penalty in case of cancellation. Well, I did not cancel this trip, this trip was cancelled because of incompetence and negligence by Cruises.com, a World Travel Holdings company, and Holland America. I have requested the over $1,000 penalty be refunded to me as both Cruises.com and Holland America should be held accountable. In the meantime, given my experience with these 2 companies, I implore whomever is reading this review, not to use these companies. Words cannot express the disappointment these companies have caused me and husband because of their incompetence and negligence.

Still not heard from rep but have received our booking and terms and conditions only to find that we will lose our deposit if we cancel. Asked to transfer the deposit to a new cruise but will only transfer it to P&O and we have to spend the same or more amount of money than the cruise we booked!! Don't get caught in the trap - cancel up to 90 days before departure forfeits your deposit - transfer booking and be prepared to spend the same money. We booked a cruise with Cheryl on February 18, 2021. I was careful to ask if the cruise was either canceled or if we couldn’t live with the Covid requirements what would our cancellation penalty be.

NO WHERE does it say that even in the fine print of the promotion! That constitutes a SCAM in my opinion, a bait and switch that you don't find out about until AFTER you book the cruise! PLEASE - if you are going to book a cruise online....try another agency that is more transparent such as Expedia. I called cruises.com in order to book a cruise that I could travel on with only a government issued ID like a driver's license. Their representative Ellen found me a cruise assured me of the requirements and then sold it to me.

I very much enjoyed an omelet with hashbrowns at Sea Day Brunch and salmon during the formal night dinner in the Pacific Restaurant. I also had a wonderful time at two special events — complimentary afternoon tea and an extra-fee Dr. Seuss-themed Thing 1 and Thing 2 Birthday Breakfast — held in the Atlantic Restaurant. Both serve the same menu for dinner, but only the larger Pacific Restaurant is open for Sea Day Brunch on sea days and breakfast (but not lunch) on port days. With calming seafoam green and yellow decor alongside extras like Elemis toiletries, bathrobes and slippers, these are some of the most relaxing cabins on any ship.

What to know before you sail on Carnival Jubilee

They kept transferring the call to 5,6 different persons. Also, they need to learn how to appreciate their customers. They raised their voice at me while I was nicely asking for their assistance.

Carnival Jubilee offers a full roundup of daily activities on each voyage. Unique to Carnival Jubilee are two new bars in the Deck 6 Currents zone. This nautically themed outpost is next to a popular access point to the outer decks, so the only downside is that you might be blasted with hot air while your drink is being made. Carnival Jubilee has so many places to eat that I ran out of time to try them all on my weeklong sailing. As a sucker for soft-serve ice cream, I was a frequent visitor to the three soft-serve ice cream and frozen yogurt machines on decks 8, 16 and 17. At some point, I lost count of how many cones I ate.

The default search results are ordered by “best value”, unless you specifically click that you’d rather see the results organized by price, cruise length, departure date, or cruise ship. We tried on numerous occasions to reach this client by phone and the calls would not go through. We do not advertise in Israel; the client came to our U.S. site on his own. On the home page in the upper right hand corner we state which cruise lines will not accept international bookings from agencies based in North America. The client chose to book Princess, which is one of those cruise lines that does not accept international clients booked via agencies in the US. We were not able to cancel the booking because the client had booked within penalty.

It was the same cost going direct to Carnival. And then if you decide to cancel they don't go off what the cruise website states for cancellation period. They charge the whole deposit PLUS another $100! Use a more reputable travel agency, there are hundreds. I booked a cruise with this company and was not told that I would be charged 100 to cancel. Norwegian did not charge it was this travel company.

Prices about the same as the cruise line but cruise.com gave more on board credit so it was worth it. We were scheduled to leave JFK on February 11, 2023 on a Singapore Airlines flight to Singapore. On February 2, I received a voicemail from Holland America advising me that Indonesia had changed its entry policies regarding Covid 19. Cruises.com never informed me of any change of policy. In addition, after doing some basic research, I learned that Indonesia's policies had not changed.

We have worked with Kelsey Meyers on 2 different cruises. She has been very professional, courteous and continues to answer all of our questions for our upcoming cruise. Will definitely use her in the future (as we plan our cruise for next year). Kelly, was wounderfull to work with and answered all our questions and worked to get the cabin close to our relatives. She went above and beyond just beeing a sales person.

Read our signature day by day cruise reviews for cruise ships from major brands including Royal Caribbean, Norwegian Cruise Line, Carnival Cruise Line, and more. We provide honest feedback of the cruise ship, dining, amenities, entertainment, and more. Note that a Costco membership (starting at $60 per year) is required to book with Costco Travel, and that Costco doesn’t accept American Express. Avoya’s team of staffers and wide network of independent agencies make for a cruise booking website that’s a bit different from the rest. Its front page shows the “Best Travel Deals,” which might include half-off cruise fares, onboard credit, prepaid gratuities, and free or reduced airfare. Though Tripadvisor is technically a meta-search site for cruises, which means that it will send you elsewhere to actually book, its search engine lets users sort by destination, length, cruise line, and month of travel.

Princess Cruises, nostalgically remembered for its role in The Love Boat, secures the third position, continuing to be a favorite for its romantic allure and value proposition. Carnival Jubilee has standard North American 110-volt outlets in its cabins, as well as plenty of USB ports. In my balcony room, I had three standard outlets and four USB lightning ports by the vanity. There was also a USB port (non-lightning) on either side of the bed, just below the reading lamp. The second quarter involves pool deck games where passengers have to dress up in football gear to complete team races. There's also a hot tub at Loft 19 on Deck 19, which charges a fee for access.

Wont help with a reschedule or any other options. The currency on Carnival Jubilee is the U.S. dollar. Passengers link credit cards to their onboard accounts or put up a set amount of cash to charge against, using their keycards as a means of making purchases. The only time you might want to have some bills handy is for tipping your room steward, bartenders, room service delivery people, luggage porters or shore excursion guides. Through at least April 2026, Carnival Jubilee offers two seven-night Western Caribbean itineraries out of its Galveston home port on a regular rotation.

Cruise Line Dress Codes: What to Wear on a Cruise

Aside from lathering up on the SPF, protect yourself from all that sunshine by bringing a sun visor, baseball cap, or wide-brimmed straw hat on your cruise—ideally, one that won’t blow away in a sea breeze. This is an easy clothing item you can drape over your shoulders to dress up an outfit, or to warm you up if you’re outside and there is a chill in the air. You may also be required to cover your head and shoulders if entering a mosque, or bare arms if visiting a church, so pack something that enables you to respect the local culture.

Kids should always have water shoes for the beach as the sand can also be hot and rocky. Sneakers or sandals with cushioned soles are ideal for long walks or excursions, while flip-flops or water-resistant slides are perfect for poolside relaxation. Remember to pack a pair of sunglasses to protect your eyes from the sun and a hat for added sun protection. Whether you’re planning to lounge by the pool, explore the ports of call, or participate in fun onboard activities, it’s essential to dress appropriately for the weather and the activities planned for the day. If you feel confused or uninspired about what to pack for your next cruise, we're here to decipher the dress codes with photos of stylish examples of acceptable cruisewear.

What clothes should you wear on a cruise?

Some specialty restaurants -- particularly Remy, one of the most expensive for-fee restaurants on any cruise ship -- prohibit jeans and require jackets for men throughout the entire voyage. Below, broken down by line, learn what to wear on a cruise during the day, in the evening and on formal night, so you'll be properly outfitted for your voyage. Don’t forget to pack your favorite swimsuits for fun-filled days by the pool or at the beach. Whether you prefer a one-piece or a bikini, bring enough options to enjoy the sun and water. Remember that the daytime dress code on a cruise is generally laid-back and relaxed. So, embrace the casual nature of your cruise vacation and enjoy the freedom to dress comfortably while you explore and unwind during the day.

Annoying Mistakes I've Made on Cruises

For dinner in NCL's main dining room or more upscale specialty restaurants, collared shirts and pants or nice jeans are suggested for men (with closed-toe shoes). Tank tops for men, flip-flops, baseball caps and visors are not permitted in the main dining room or any of the specialty restaurants. On most nights, Celebrity's dinner dress code is smart casual, meaning polo shirts and slacks for men and skirts or pants with blouses (or casual dresses). The answer is that it is far more likely to be enforced in specialty restaurants than in other venues. You may also find that the shorter the cruise, the less formal even formal night becomes onboard.

Suggested attire for men includes trousers and collared shirts (ties and jackets are optional but not required). For women, dresses, or skirts or slacks with sweaters or blouses are recommended. Evenings aboard Silversea ships rotate among casual, informal and formal dress codes. On casual nights, resort-style wear is requested -- open-neck shirts and slacks are appropriate for men, while women wear casual dresses, blouses and skirts or pants. Casual attire includes jeans and collared shirts for men and sundresses or pants with blouses for women.

Disney Cruise Line Dress Code: Making Dress-Up Nights Fun

The dress code is strict, with the buffet the only place that will allow T-shirts and shorts. Packing outfits for vacation can be overwhelming, especially if you're one to overpack for a trip. If that's you, a weekend getaway can be the perfect challenge for you to curb your bad habits and stick to packing for versatility. The best advice I can give is to pack for the vacation you want to have. Weekend cruises are a great way to unwind and explore another world in a short amount of time, so pack for busy days where you'll be going from the beach to a museum, out to lunch and then back to the beach.

Holland America Dress Code

"Smart casual and above?" "Casual elegance?" Cruises tend to have more styles of dress than your average vacation. You’ll also be required to wear appropriate clothing in the Fitness Center; suitable shoes for the treadmills and exercise bikes, for example, just as you would in the gym at home. Just remember that while walking from your stateroom to the pool and vice versa, you’ll need to wear a swim cover up. Shade your eyes from those bright rays bouncing off the water with Costa Del Mar polarized sunglasses. For men, Marine Layer’s Saturday Stretch Beach Pant offers a more structured onboard look with a similar drawstring waist. Check out the brand’s Garment Dye Crew Sweaters, too, for a look to dress up or down.

Sneakers will also be useful if you try out a fitness class or use the gym equipment in the ship’s state-of-the-art fitness center. On its ships, HAL offers one "gala night" on each sailing of up to a week in length. Those between eight and 13 nights will see two gala nights scheduled, and there will be three on voyages of two weeks or longer. Keep in mind that cruise ship cabins tend to be far less roomy than hotel rooms. Nisolo’s woven huarache sandals come in numerous neutral shades that make them easy to mix and match with cruise outfits.

If this appeals, you can't go wrong with a tuxedo (black or white) or gown. In addition, passengers who would like to participate in theme nights are encouraged (but not required) to dress according to a specific theme. Examples include the White Party, Gatsby Night or the '60s and '70s-themed Flower Glory Party. In restaurants, the cruise line asks passengers to not wear beach attire such as shorts, sarongs or flip-flops.

Resort casual gradually transitions to "smart casual" on most days as evening approaches. That means a skirt, pants or jeans with a casual top for women and slacks or jeans with short-sleeved collared shirts for men. When trying to figure out what to wear on a cruise, it's important to plan ahead and know what your must-dos are for your cruise vacation. For long days jam-packed with historical and natural sights to see, pack fabrics that are breathable and comfortable. Linen pants and a good pair of socks and boots are invaluable for rainforest hikes, while a lightweight long-sleeve shirt and a sunhat with a drawstring will keep you covered when visiting ancient ruins.

This practical accessory ensures you won’t miss any planned activities or dining reservations. So a standard watch can help you stay on “ships time” throughout your cruise easier. It’s not uncommon during a cruise for the ship’s time to change once or more as you travel great distances. Protect your eyes and skin from the sun’s rays with sunglasses and sun hats. These accessories shield you from harmful UV rays and add a touch of style to your cruise outfits. Ladies can opt for a stunning cocktail dress or an elegant evening gown that complements the occasion.

If so, you might want to pack an outfit for the white party or '80s night. If you’re headed somewhere like Norway or Alaska where hiking is one of the most popular activities, it’s worth packing a good pair of walking boots. These shoes will take you back and forth from your stateroom to the pool and vice versa. Lightweight water shoes are great for some ports in the Mediterranean, where beaches tend to be pebbly. The key is to know exactly what to expect onboard and to familiarize yourself with Celebrity Cruises’ “Relaxed Luxury”.

Princess' casual daytime mindset means you can wear the same types of clothing on board as you would during a day ashore — activewear, beachwear and jeans or T-shirts are totally fine. Have you ever had that nightmare where you're at work, in school or giving an important presentation, and you look down to discover you're wearing only your underwear (or worse, nothing at all)? If you're new to vacationing at sea, knowing how to dress for a cruise can be confusing — and just as potentially embarrassing if you're not prepared. If you’re planning on doing a lot of walking around the ship during days at sea, it’s a good idea to pack a pair of sneakers or other comfortable walking shoes.

Each Disney sailing features a Pirate Night; cruisers wishing to participate should pack their best swashbuckling gear. As is standard at Disney parks, you're also likely to see large numbers of costumes and mouse ears at all hours of the day. Some of Disney Cruise Line's added-fee restaurants, such as Remy — one of the most expensive alternative eateries at sea — require jackets for men and don't allow jeans. Voyages of six nights or longer will have two "cruise elegant" nights, while those five nights or shorter will see only one. Finally, check to see if your cruise line has any special theme nights planned.

Disney Cruise Line is synonymous with children, and children like to be comfortable. With that in mind, just about anything goes in terms of dress on The Mouse's ships, which tend toward casual in spite of their stellar service and high price point. For shore excursions — particularly those in more rugged or active destinations that require a lot of walking — comfortable, casual clothing and sturdy footwear are a must. Bring layers for cold climates and moisture-wicking fabrics for places where it's warm or where you expect to work up a sweat. If you’re spending the day at the pool, you can also have lunch or dine in casual pool clothes at the Mast Grill located next to the pool deck. If you were looking forward to wearing a tuxedo or formal gown on Evening Chic nights, you can absolutely do that as well.
